What’S OUT THERE

NATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

  • Helps qualifying families cover youth sports registration fees so more children have the opportunity to participate.

    Application Periods:
    Fall 2026: Opened June 23, 2026
    Winter 2026: Opens October 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM PT
    Spring 2027: Opens January 19, 2027 at 10:00 AM PT

    Funding is limited, so families should apply as early as possible once the appropriate application period opens.

  • Provides financial assistance to qualifying families for youth sports registration, equipment and other participation expenses.

    Application Period:
    Applications are accepted based on the athlete's upcoming sports season.

    Recommended Deadline:
    Apply at least 30 days before your sport program's registration deadline.

  • Helps families facing financial barriers with youth sports participation costs, subject to eligibility and funding availability in their community.

    Application Period:
    Year-round.

    Families may submit an Application for Assistance at any time. Assistance depends on program guidelines, verification and available funding in the family's area.

FLORIDA ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

  • Provides Florida education scholarships that may allow eligible families to use scholarship funds toward approved educational expenses, including certain physical education, sports and training expenses.

    2026–27 PEP Scholarship Application Period:
    February 1 – April 30, 2026

    That application period is currently closed. Families interested in future funding should check Step Up for Students for the next application cycle.

    Important: Other Step Up scholarships have different deadlines. For 2026–27, new Private School and Unique Abilities applications remain open through November 15, 2026, while the PEP deadline was April 30.

  • Provides sports and activity scholarships to eligible Florida youth to help reduce financial barriers to participation.

    Application Period:
    The organization currently states that scholarship applications were scheduled to reopen September 2026.

CENTRAL FLORIDA & TAMPA BAY RESOURCES

  • Helps Central Florida families overcome financial barriers to youth sports through sports scholarships and equipment assistance.

    Application Deadlines:
    Spring Sports: March 1
    Fall Sports: August 25 Sports 4 Kids

    Families should verify that their county and sport are currently eligible before applying.

  • Provides financial assistance to youth athletes and families facing barriers involving sports participation expenses.

    Application Period:
    No fixed deadline.

    Families are encouraged to reach out whenever cost becomes a barrier to their athlete's season. Assistance and timing are evaluated individually. Coach Logan Wells Foundation

    Because this organization primarily serves the Tampa Bay area, Hernando County families should contact the foundation to confirm availability.
